Promoting MIB values trough entrepreneurial activity

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Information Technology students from Kemuda Institute, Beribi Campus organised an Entrepreneurship Day themed Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB)
yesterday.

The event began with welcoming remarks from student representative Awangku Mohammad Haziq Fakhrullah Shah bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad Iskandar Shah, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the recitation of Doa led by Muhammad Irfan Akmal bin Samihan.

The Entrepreneurship Day saw a variety of Brunei’s traditional games such as congkak and dessert such as kueh bahulu, kelupis and kain tenunan on display. Fashion design and antique items depicting MIB values were also showcased.

The event aimed to encourage entrepreneurial spirit among students and to equip them with business knowledge and skills. It also presented a fresh and unique way to promote MIB values through entrepreneurial activities.

A participant, Siti Nursyahirah Hanani binti Rojimi said, “It was an eventful day as we got to learn to work as a team. The event allowed us to showcase our handmade products and interacted with customers.”

Meanwhile, Noor Hahfizah binti Haji Mazin said, “We learnt how to manage our own business more systematically starting from the division of tasks and roles to each group member. The cooperation of each member plays an important role in ensuring the successful execution of the business.

“What is more interesting is that with the an MIB-concept entrepreneurship day, it gives us the opportunity to increase our knowledge on traditional games, food and culture.”
