Promoting healthy lifestyle among the workforce

Seventy participants comprising officers and staff from the Community Development Department (JAPEM), members of the Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE) as well as associations and volunteers registered under JAPEM attended a briefing on ‘Hidup Lebih Lama, Bekerja Lebih Lama (Occupational Health and Safety Issues in Ageing Workforce).

Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) through JAPEM, it was held at the Imtiyaz Hall of Pusat Bahagia in Kampong Pulaie on Saturday.

Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre’s (PJSC) Occupational Health Specialist Dr NBP Balalla delivered the briefing.

The event was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle to combat ageing among the workforce and providing awareness on the dynamic challenges surrounding stereotypes and discrimination on ageing, behavioural differences, multi-generational working groups and security.

It was also expected to help in the preparation of ageing-friendly strategies and best practices.
