Project showcases Malay tradition, students’ skills

Sixteen diploma students at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education Jefri Bolkiah Campus (IBTE JBC) recently completed a project showcasing Malay traditions and their video-making skills.

Conducted by the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) Unit at IBTE JBC, the students were required to create video demonstrations for a variety of local cuisine and traditional kuih.

With IBTE JBC MIB instructor Fahrurrazi bin Haji Awang Matali as the facilitator, the project was part of the students’ coursework in their MIB Module for Diploma Level.

Six students from the 2020/2023 intake for the Diploma in Nautical Studies and 10 from the 2020/2023 intake for the Diploma in Marine Engineering spent three weeks producing the videos shown before a panel of judges on September 9.

Religious Teachers University College Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) lecturer Norapizah binti Zalani, Head of Office Administration and MIB Instructor IBTE Business Campus Nurazimah binti Haji Duah and Education Officer at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Training Institute, Penanjong Garrison Muhammad Azmi bin Haji Zaini were among the panel.

IBTE JBC Academic Manager Rosmah binti Salman presented certificates to the students.
