The Brunei Senior Citizen Organisation (WEB) held a special meeting with the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) leaders to plan and implement a programme dubbed KAMIL (Welfare, Amali, Muhasabah, Istiqamah and Lutanan) at the centre’s premises.
WEB President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don said the meeting was a follow-up to a religious joint programme with the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in April.
With the signing, MoRA and WEB will collaborate on three main programmes – Khatam Al-Quran ceremony, KAMIL programme and senior citizen welfare assistance. The programme is scheduled to be held over three to five years according to priority and needs.
It aims to encourage senior citizens to gain and exchange knowledge, conduct research on applying welfare assistance for senior citizens including single mothers, and perform good deeds.
PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh welcomed the collaboration and will provide cooperation to ensure its success.
He said the KAMIL programme resonates well with the PDI’s mission adding that they will provide cooperation in improvising the affairs of amal ibadah particularly prayers among the senior citizens, as well as other religious practices.
