Employees Trust Fund (TAP) organised a two-day Lakastah Bersedia or Let’s Be Ready programme at Bandar Seri Begawan since Wednesday.
The comprehensive retirement planning programme highlighted the importance of having proper planning in finances and other important aspects before retirement.
The programme was intended for TAP members who will retire in the next 10 to 15 years.
The programme covered financial planning, estate management (the use of Faraidh, will and Hibah), health, family and social relationship during retirement, and awareness on financial scams.
Speakers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Health, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) facilitated the programme.
Also highlighted were the importance of identifying the participants’ needs and goals for retirement as well as taking the early action to achieve these goals. TAP also shared information on the benefits of making voluntary contributions to TAP and/or SCP as one way to increase their retirement savings.
The programme was its second session this year with 30 participants from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, including their spouses participated.
