TIMES Square Shopping Centre ended the seventh edition of its Board Games Weekend yesterday, where customers tried out and played board games such as Scrabble, Monopoly, Snakes and Ladders, and Jenga at the shopping centre’s atrium.
The three-day event was organised by Times Square Shopping Centre and co-organised by the Brunei Chess Federation (BCF) in collaboration with the Co-Curriculum Education Department from the Ministry of Education. The last day also saw the second Mindquest Intervarsity Chess Cup 2018 held for schools, pre-universities and institutions of higher education.
Haji Suni, the Managing Director of Mindquest Tuition School and Mally Hadini, the General Secretary of Times Square, presented prizes at the event.
SMJA Warrior emerged champion in the top three team ranking, bringing home the challenge trophy along with cash prize and medals.
Haji Kipli was the champion for being first in the Best Board category, followed by Kamarul Ariffin, Zahirul Haq and Andira in second, third and fourth, respectively. Nur Zahirah won in the Best Girls’ category as well as in the Under-12 category, while Kamarul Ariffin bin Haji Kipli won in the best Under-16 category.
