Prince Sufri graces wushu opening ceremony

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC), witnessed the action-packed 9th World Junior Wushu Championships at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday morning.

His Royal Highness observed three events: the boy’s duilian ‘A’, girl’s duilian ‘A’, and girl’s nanquan ‘C’ categories.

In the boy’s duilian ‘A’ event, Brunei athletes Walid Lachkar and Abel Lim Yuen Wee secured fifth place with a score of 9.216, while Brunei’s Gwen Lee Yen Xi finished in sixth place in the girl’s nanquan ‘C’ category, scoring 8.390.

Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, along with senior officials from the ministry were also present.

His Royal Highness presented prizes to the top three winners of the boy’s duilian ‘A’ event.
