Prince Malik graces Al-Quran reading contest

Three Qari and three Qariah participants presented their Al-Quran reading during the second night of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik graced the event.

Greeting His Royal Highness upon arrival was Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman along with the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021 High Committee members.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Syariah Appeal Court Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin, followed by the reading of Al-Quran by the Qari and Qariah participants.

The second night’s three Qari participants were Mohammad Zul Hafiz bin Tengah, Haji Nasrul Fakhri bin Haji Yahya and Haji Hazwan bin Haji Salim, while the three Qariah participants were Dayangku Fauziah Nadhirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri, Hajah Nurfaezah binti Haji Emran and Hajah Nurhapidzah binti Haji Hassan.

The National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021 will continue tonight.

The theme of this year’s National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults 1442 Hijrah/2021 is ‘Al-Quran is the basis and catalyst for national development’.
