Pre-dawn talk: Self-reflection allows room for necessary changes

THE pre-dawn talk at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque yesterday dealt with the topic of self-reflection.

Titled Muhasabah Diri or Self-Reflection, the talk by Syariah Subordinate Courts Judge at the State Judiciary Department Haji Sahrin bin Haji Kadih discussed self-reflection as means to evaluate one’s own weaknesses to instigate the necessary changes.

“Truth is a bitter pill to swallow, but it allows for the cleansing of ignorance, the proper application of religious worship and the inhibition of what has been prohibited, to make way for more blessings from Allah the Almighty,” he said.

Chief Syar‘ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar was present.

Judges from the Syariah Court, permanent secretaries from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), deputy permanent secretaries at the MoRA and judges from the Syariah Subordinate Courts were also present.

Initiated by the MoRA through its Mosque Affairs Department, the Islamic Da’wah Centre and the Islamic Syiar Development Division, the talk was part of the Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat programme to encourage more congregants for the mass Subuh prayer.
