YESTERDAY’S pre-dawn talk on the virtues of helping others was delivered by Mosque Affairs Officer at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Awangku Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin.
Awangku Ahmad Faris described youth as the country’s most important asset, who need to follow example of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in terms of leadership qualities.
“Among the characteristics of the faithful is their love for others – which then gives rise to a sense of leadership – and helping those in trouble and distress,” he said.
The talk was part of the weekly Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat programme, jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), with the aim of encouraging more congregants for the mass Subuh prayer at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
Among those present were Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman; Minister at the PMO Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar; Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang; and Ra’es of the Religious Teachers’ University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.
