Pre-dawn talk highlights importance of health in Islam

Yesterday’s pre-dawn talk held at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque highlighted the importance of health in Islam.

The talk was delivered by Director of the Core Knowledge Centre of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Noralizam bin Haji Aliakbar.

“Neglect of one’s health not only disrupts family harmony, but is also prohibited in Islam,” he said.

“We must take care of our health and our bodies…anyone who knowingly indulges in self-destructive behaviour will be condemned by Allah the Almighty.”

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Pengiran Haji Kamalrudzaman bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Ishak, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Abdul Haji Halidi bin Haji Mohd Salleh and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali were also present.

The weekly event is aimed increasing the number of congregants for the mass Subuh prayer at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, prior to the Bandarku Ceria programme.
