THE pre-dawn talk, held at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque yesterday, focussed on the importance and benefits of Taqwa (piety) as the ultimate form of self-discipline.

The talk was delivered by Mosque Affairs Officer Ustaz Awangku Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin, who pointed out that while Iman (faith) may encourage one to do good deeds, Taqwa will assure the Istiqamah (constancy) in the accomplishment of those good deeds.

Among those present were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang.

Organised by MoRA, with the support of the Prime Minister’s Office, the pre-dawn talk is part of the weekly Masjidku Ma’mur, Negara Berkat programme aimed at drawing more congregants to the congregational Subuh prayers at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

In addition, the programme also allows the Bandarku Ceria participants to begin their day in spiritual reflection through the recitation of Zikir after the congregational prayers.
