‘Prayer is better than Sleep’ was the theme of a religious talk by Religious Officer at Islamic Da’wah Centre Nurhikmah binti Haji Idris from Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque at Munajat night on Saturday.
The theme highlighted the privileges and benefits of performing Subuh prayer. Hence, it is important for the Ummah to sleep early and wake up so as not to miss the Subuh prayer in accordance with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Nurhikmah shared tips to wake up early to perform Subuh prayer which included the intention, to sleep before 10pm and to perform ablution before going to sleep.
Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Vice-Chancellor Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin led by Trainee Teacher, Special Grade, at the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Siti Huzzaimah Yadey binti Haji Rosli, from the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School’s surau in Katok.
It was followed by recitation of Doa Munajat, Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The spouse of the Minister of Religious Affairs Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Awang Asbi and spouse of Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Datin Norazimah binti Haji Ramlee attended the event.
Women congregants from several mosques including Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque and Kampong Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL), academic workforce and women staff of the Islamic Studies Department and MoRA as well as their family members also joined the Munajat night.
