Police personnel from Bangar Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) foiled a smuggling attempt of contraband through Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge on Thursday.
According to the RBPF, police personnel detected a suspicious vehicle during a crime prevention patrol. The patrol deployed along the bridge succeeded in identifying the car on its way to Bandar Seri Begawan. The vehicle was stopped and 672 cans of alcohol and 50 cartons of cigarettes were found. The driver, an unemployed local, was detained and brought back to the Bangar Police Station. – James Kon
