His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman graced the opening day of the 28th Brunei Age Group Swimming Championships at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex Swimming Pool yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah presented prizes to winners in the men’s category while Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah presented prizes to winners in the women’s category during the prize presentation ceremony.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah were also present.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah, performing under the banner of Mabohai Swimming Club, secured a bronze medal in the Girls 10 to 11 Years 50m butterfly event.
During the evening session of the tournament, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah competed in the Girls 7 and over Long Course (LC) 50 Metre Backstroke and Girls 9 and over LC 100 Metre Freestyle categories.
Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.
The three-day long tournament, which concludes tomorrow, is organised by the Brunei Amateur Swimming Association (BASA) and supported by the Department of Youth and Sports, MCYS.
