The Public Service Department Strategic Plan 2021-2025 for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) upholds His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s aspiration of a quality, knowledgeable and honest public service.
The plan highlights changes to elevate the capabilities and effectiveness of civil service, particularly in management, planning and human resources development.
This was underscored by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud during the strategic plan’s launch.
The minister said the strategic plan restructured human resources initiatives known for excellence in the public service.
The five-year plan has a new vision of Transformasi Perkhidmatan Awam Ke Arah Brunei Darussalam Yang Maju aiming to meet the challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
The minister said, “To ensure success, 10 per cent of the effort is in planning and 90 per cent in execution.” Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti called on officials and employees to play their role in realising the strategic plan’s goals.
The minister who launched the plan presented copies to officials.
The minister also officiated the Asset Management System (AMAS). The system ensures all assets under the Public Service Department are efficiently and regularly maintained. It also allows department officials and staff to monitor the assets.
