Philippines reports 163 new COVID-19 cases, totalling 13,597

MANILA (XINHUA) – The Philippine Health Department yesterday reported 163 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country 13,597.

In a daily bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said 92 more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the number of recoveries to 3,092. It added that 11 more patients have died from the COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 857.

The DOH said 91 cases or 56 per cent of the daily cases were reported in Metro Manila, 56 cases or 34 per cent in the Central Visayas region in the central Philippines and 16 cases or 10 per cent were reported from other parts of the country.
