The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO Voctech) Regional Centre yesterday received a working visit from a delegation of the Pedro E Diaz High School, Department of Education, Muntinlupa City in the Philippines led by Principal II Eden B Binaday. SEAMEO Voctech Centre Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar welcomed the delegates and hoped the visitors would embark on a journey of learning, exploration and collaboration as they delved into excellent practices, services and innovate technical and vocational education and training (TVET) facilities the centre offers.
He also hoped the visit will set a benchmark in activities that provide an opportunity for both parties to gain insights, gather inspiration and elevate collective understanding of best practises in TVET. “As we share our successes, challenges and visions, we are sowing the seeds of growth that will undoubtedly benefit not only our educational and training institutions but also the aspiring minds we nurture,” he said.
The director also hoped that interaction and discussion between the two sides would spark new ideas, establish lasting connections and contribute to the advancement of both parties’ education and training institutions.
The delegation was briefed about the centre’s background, development and achievements, as well as attended a presentation on regional knowledge platform SEA-VET.net and the AR and VR Smart Lab. – Rokiah Mahmud
