The Enforcement Division of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board issued a BND200 compound fine to a local pharmacy yesterday.
According to the Municipal Board, the pharmacy along Jalan Pretty, Kuala Belait was found by the enforcement division to have disposed cardboard boxes at a public premise behind
the shop.
The division issued the compound fine under Chapter 30 Section 12(1)(a) of the Minor Offences Act. The company was given seven days to settle the fine. Failure to do so will result in the case being forwarded to court.
If guilty, the accused will be handed a BND1,000 fine or a month’s imprisonment, while subsequent offences will see a penalty of BND3,000 fine or imprisonment of no more than three months.
The Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board reminded the public and business owners to ensure the cleanliness of the surrounding environment.
