The best formula in building a future is by strengthening personality, vision and discipline, National Service Programme (PKBN) Director Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Zulkifli bin Pengiran Haji Ismail said at the enrolment of the 10th intake of the PKBN, comprising 174 male and 76 female trainees as well as 100 instructors andtrainers, at the PKBN Training Camp in Kampong Batu Apoi, Temburong District yesterday.
As chairman of the event, he noted that youth’s awareness, being prepared by answering the call to enrol into PKBN is something to be proud of.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s enrolment of the PKBN trainees was limited to 250.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin launched the ceremony.
The event began with the singing of national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan by the new trainees followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Religious and Spiritual Officer Mohd Khairul Hazmi bin Haji Munir and recitation of Al-Quran verses by 12721 Trainee Muhammad Dhiya Urhahman bin Abullah from Platoon 6.
The ceremony proceeded with the taking of PKBN oath led by 12727 Trainee Mohammad Hisyamuddin bin Abdullah Azizulzabbar followed with the singing of PKBN song Sedia Berbakti by the trainees.
The ceremony closed with a Doa Selamat by Mohd Khairul Hazmi.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police ACP Haji Mohammed Fadzillah bin Haji Ismail, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force Brigadier General Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Youth and Sports) at the MCYS Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said and Acting Temburong District Officer also attended.
