DPMM FC head coach Adrian Pennock has labelled the 7-1 win against Balestier Khalsa FC a professional performance in their previous outing in the AIA Singapore Premier League at the Bishan Stadium in Singapore last Saturday night.

“We’re very pleased to score seven goals away from home. We’re disappointed with the one goal we conceded but it’s a very good result and obviously it puts us top of the league,” the head coach told the Singapore media.

“The boys fully deserved that and I thought it was very good. It was a good professional performance,” he said.

Pennock said that their next match against Warriors FC will represent a tough test adding that there are no easy games in the Singapore top flight.

“Obviously the next game will be another difficult one. It never comes easy for us but we’ve got three or four home games on the spin.

“Now we’re up there, everybody wants to beat us. But all credit to the players and the staff. It has been a very good start to the season and it’s a testament to them.”

In a pre-match interview, Pennock expressed how proud he would be of his charges if they moved to the top of the league.

He said, “I will be a very proud coach and very proud of the players if we come top on today. But we still got 90 minutes to play and it will be a long 90 minutes.”

Meanwhile, Balestier Khalsa FC Raihan Rahman, who took over captaincy duties from the injured Zaiful Nizam hinted how they missed out the presence of their captain.

“It is a big loss for us and when Zaiful is not around, they (DPMM FC) capitalised on every set-piece. It’s good for them,” he said.
