Paying homage to Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation

The Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam observed the 73rd birth anniversary of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at its chancery in Jalan Tanah Jambu yesterday.

High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and welcomed Brunei youth and government officials, and Bangladesh community members.

The event observed a one-minute silence, a floral tribute, the recitation of Al-Quran and a special prayer for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib, Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal and all the martyrs of the family of Bangabandhu and the martyrs of 1971.

The high commissioner also read a brief biography of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal and highlighted the phases of his life. A documentary on Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal was also showcased.
