Paving the way to a brighter future

A total of 320 students of Micronet International College marked their graduation in a ceremony at The Empire Brunei recently.

Micronet, or formerly known as Micronet Computer School, was established in 1989. It is a place of innovative and academic-oriented learning that combine academic excellence with social and economic relevance.

Micronet offers Pearson BTEC certificate, diploma and Higher National Diploma courses in information technology; soon it will also offer different levels of Pearson BTEC Business courses at its Gadong and Jerudong campuses.

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) appointed Micronet as its satellite partner last year, to offer a 14-week BriCOMP Bridging Programme to post A-Level students who fall short of the minimum points for the degree programme in computing at UTB.

Eight Micronet students from the programme’s April 2020 intake completed the course and were accepted into UTB’s July 2020 intake.

Micronet will soon roll out its first UTB-MIC computing degree programmes, following the signing of a memorandum of agreement between UTB and Micronet in December 15, 2020.

Micronet Jerudong campus will exclusively offer Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing with Major in Network Security, and Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing with Major in Multimedia in the coming July/2021 intake.

Students who are not able to gain their direct entry into UTB will now have a chance of joining first year studies in one of the two UTB-MIC computing degree programmes at Micronet and continue the remaining years at UTB. The programmes are especially suitable for working adults who wish to advance their qualification to meet the challenging job market.
