Pantai Berakas Primary School emerged overall champion for Cluster 3, followed by Delima Satu Primary School in second place and Rimba 1 Primary School in third at the Primary School Kids Athletics Festival 2023 held at Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School in Kampong Sungai Akar yesterday.
Meanwhile, for Cluster 4, the overall champion was Katok ‘B’ Primary School, while Sengkurong Primary School and Beribi Telanai Primary School were in second and third places.
Around 745 students, including students with special needs representing 62 schools, participated in the festival held for three separate days with four competitions, including formula bends, side swing throw, rhythmic jump relay and ladder recovery.
Participation was open to government and private primary school students under the purview of the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The competition aimed to introduce sports activities to aid in the physical needs, growth and development of the children as well as foster interest in activities involving movement, introduce basic athletic movements in the form of games and promote the fun aspect of competitive sports.
Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education Department Julaihi bin Haji Mohamad/Mohamat presented prizes to the winners.
