Pakistan Chief of Naval Staff visits Brunei navy

The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received a visit from Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi to Muara Naval Base as part of his introductory visit to Brunei which concludes today.

Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff was received by Commander of the RBN First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily followed by his inspection of the half guard mounted by RBN personnel.

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi proceeded with a bilateral discussion with the Commander of the RBN.

Both sides affirmed ties between the two navies and discussed areas of engagement to bolster friendly ties.

The visit concluded with a tour onboard KDB Darussalam, one of Royal Brunei Navy’s Darussalam class patrol vessel.

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also had courtesy calls with Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat and Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Khairul Hamed bin Haji Lampoh.

An official dinner hosted by Commander of the RBN was also held. Senior officers and their spouses were present.

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi was appointed the Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy on October 2017.
