Over BND314K collected for Pakistan flood victims

The Secretariat of the Humanitarian Fund for Pakistan Flood Victims 2022 Committee collected BND314,307.29 during a closing meeting of the humanitarian fund yesterday at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, where the officers discussed suggestions to channel the contributions.

The fund was opened to the public from October 15, 2022 to January 12, 2023.

Humanitarian funds for Pakistan flood victims 2022 were received from fund boxes at mosques, suraus and religious halls as well as from telecommunication companies via short message services (SMS).

Some BND78,773.26.5 was collected from 112 fund boxes by the Mosque Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) at mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide while BND90,599 was collected via SMS Brunei Prihatin project from Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST) and another BND5,000 from the company itself. Meanwhile, Progresif Sdn Bhd handed over some BND14,200 via SMS Brunei Prihatin service and another BND3,500 from imagine Sdn Bhd’s website portal and donation from the company.
