Over BND20,000 in bursary was awarded to students during the Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (RCBSB) Bursary Awards at the Fuzhou Shiyyi Association building yesterday.
RCBSB President Betty Wong said, “I feel honoured to stand here in front of you all, helping needy students and acknowledging the achievements of our teachers and students who have made their schools and parents proud.”
Chua Lian Moi from St Andrew School, Chak Wang Hoong @ Aywen from St George’s School and Veronica Chan Pei Ling from Chung Hwa Middle School, named Best Teacher of 2023, each received a cash prize of BND250.
Fiona Chai Jia Xuan from St Andrew’s School, Kajanefer Jamal Mohamed from St George’s School and Chuang Pei Rong @Annika Chung from Chung Hwa Middle School were named Best Student and each received a cash prize of BND200.
St Andrews students Billy Putera bin Muhd Jeffry @ Billy Chong Wen Jie, Ryan Lee Jin Sheng and Shuana Chong Ding, and St George School students Ho Quenie Jane Xia Lejano, Francis Pui Xie Qin and Nabilla Anak Duba @ Ghabuh bin Perak received the Bursary Award.
Also receiving the Bursary Award were Seri Mulia Sarjana School student Jeannie Wong Jun Yi, Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College student Peggy Wong Wen Chi and Chung Hwa Middle School students Aliysha Luong Lee Ching, Dorothy Tiong Jing Min and Anggristiva Chong Jai Xun.
