Over BND110K for victims, religious buildings

The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) contributed BND110,450 for fire and natural disaster victims as well as mosques, suraus and prayer halls nationwide yesterday.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in his capacity as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yayasan presented the contribution during a ceremony at An-Naura Hall of Yayasan Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Some BND32,250 was donated to five families whose houses were destroyed by fire or natural disasters in the Brunei-Muara District.

The recipients were Sharizan bin Ibrahim from Kampong Masin, Hajah Junaidah binti Mohd Salleh from Kampong Anggerek Desa, Pengiran Hajah Jubaidah binti Pengiran Haji Umar of Kampong Pasai, Pengiran Hajah Aisah binti Pengiran Haji Menudin from Kampong Menglait and Aisah binti Haji Tengah from Kampong Sungai Kebun.

Meanwhile, BND78,200 was distributed to 74 mosques, suraus and prayer halls including 32 in the Brunei-Muara District, 23 in the Tutong District, eight in the Belait District and 11 in the Temburong District. The contributions were received by imams of the mosques, suraus and prayer halls.

Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak as the Acting Managing Director of Yayasan also attended the event.
