Over 50 violations recorded in joint roadblock operation

The Traffic Control and Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) in cooperation with the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Immigration and National Registration Department and Narcotics Control Bureau held a joint roadblock operation on May 22.

The operation, conducted at the Jalan Utama Mentiri heading to the Muara-Tutong Highway, was led by Head of Enforcement Unit of the Traffic Control and Investigation Department DSP Ang Lay Bee.

The operation, which began at 9pm, saw 62 enforcement officers participating.

A total of 55 violations were recorded in the operation. The violations comprised 50 compound cases, three docket cases and two cases under the Narcotics Control Bureau.

The operation sought to strengthen discipline on traffic regulations and increase the community’s trust in enforcement agencies to conduct their duties to safeguard peace, security and welfare of the nation.

The RBPF reminded road users to be vigilant and prioritise safety during the Raya celebration.
