From June 1 to 14, 2,168 samples were taken for additional/expanded surveillance of which 80 per cent are preschool and child care centre staff. The results from the surveillance conducted from the first week to the fifth week have been negative so far.

This was highlighted by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference yesterday.

From June 8 to 14, the minister said, “521 samples were taken on foreign workers’ surveillance, 616 on community surveillance and 998 samples for expanded surveillance such as on frontliners and staff at child care centres, preschools, and elderly care centres.”

On the Bruhealth App, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said, “Alhamdulillah 381,751 individuals have registered to the application. In addition, 8,587 companies and premises have registered for the BruHealth application.”

The minister said, “4,516 business premises have downloaded the PremiseScan application. Premises are advised to download the application to facilitate the QR code scanning for those who do not have access to mobile phone devices to enter premises.

“Public cooperation in the use of the BruHealth app as well as PremiseScan apps and the scanning of the QR Code at the entry and exit point at premises will help ensure the safety of all including merchants and customers, as well as facilitate the Ministry of Health to conduct contact tracing in case of an outbreak of the infection.”
