OVER 300 people took part in the National Run and Walk organised by KB Sentral yesterday, along a 6.5-kilometre route across various locations and landmarks in Kuala Belait in conjunction with the 35th National Day celebrations.
The guest of honour representative of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board Ramlee bin Haji Mat Said was welcomed to the event by KB Sentral Manager Abby Lim.
The event began with a warm-up session in KB Sentral’s carpark area, before the participants set off along the route in the company of an escort from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).
The carpark area was also the site of various activities which included a colouring contest, animal rides, bouncing castles, face-painting, mascot appearances, balloon giveaways and paddle-boating.
Several students from Perdana Wazir Secondary School were also on hand to conduct a Gulingtangan performance and distributed drinking water, sponsored by Cuckoo Brunei, to the returning participants.
A lucky draw was held at the same venue with attractive prizes such as a Longevity Steamer, a one-night stay at Garden Sentral Hotel, a meal voucher from All Seasons, a Beesket drink voucher, movie tickets from Times Cineplex, a KB Sentral Cube shopping voucher, a Timeszone play voucher, paddle-boat play vouchers from KB Sentral and Jaya Hypermart, and the grand prize of a brand- new Polar watch worth more than BND200.
