OVER 100 youth took part in a mass Subuh prayer programme organised by the Youth and Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and the Mosque Affairs Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).

The religious event held at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque in Jalan Perdana Menteri was attended by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

The event commenced with the mass Subuh prayer, followed by a dawn lecture delivered by Assistant Lecturer at the Arabic Language Faculty of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Dr Haji Ahmad @ Ahmad Asri Lubis. The congregants also recited Surah Al-Kahfi and performed Sunnat Doha prayer.

The participants of the programme comprised mosque youth members from Ash-Shaliheen Mosque, youth Da’ie (propagators), youth converts and other youth associations.

MCYS said the programme will be held bi-monthly throughout 2019 focussing on mosques in the Brunei-Muara District.

The programme serves to encourage youth to perform prayers in masses in mosques and fill their time with beneficial activities at mosques. The public, particularly the youth, are welcomed to take part in the programme.

Also present was Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof.
