Outstanding students feted

Temburong Arabic School held a Students’ Day on Wednesday to recognise students who excelled in their studies and as an encouragement to students who showed improvements in academic.

It was also held to recognise school prefects in assisting teachers and peers to instil high discipline among students and to appreciate teachers to be more dedicated and innovative in providing quality education.

Held at the Community Hall in the Temburong District, the event also saw the presentation of appreciation awards to parents and guardians.

Outstanding students in both primary and secondary levels, best in their subjects, and best in merit programme were feted.

Twelve students received excellence academic awards, two best students in primary and secondary level also received awards.

Nine teachers received recognition for meritorious service while English and Mathematics departments were announced as the best departments last year and this year.

Acting Commanding Officer of Temburong Police District DSP Shamsulariffin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, the guest of honour, presented prizes and certificates to students and teachers. The ceremony was also highlighted with performances by the students and the handover of appreciation and encouragement prizes and certificates by the guest of honour.
