Orientation concludes with community services

The Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) orientation week concluded with community services organised by its students council.

The activities aimed to raise awareness on the role of youth contribution and encourage students to be more proactive, in caring for the community.

The activities were carried out at the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Library, Kampong Pandan Kuala Belait, Down Syndrome Association (ABLE), Din’s Family Garden in Kampong Bukit Panggal Tutong, UNISSA residential college in Gadong and Sinaut campuses, the parking area of Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah and the capital.

The students also attended a briefing on Brunei Vision 2035 and its importance in facing future challenges. A number of initiatives and latest developments in education, human resources, health and infrastructure were also highlighted.

The orientation week also featured religious programmes such as the recitation of Doa Tahlil and Doa Yassiin. Students were also taught how to refine recitation during a workshop by dai’e from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, Hurul-Ain Diyana binti Haji Abdul Majid @ Vienana. – Rokiah Mahmud
