THE Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) yesterday held a handover of 50 sponsored t-shirts to Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) for the ‘Charity Walk, Run and Cycle in conjunction with the World Cancer Day 2019’ on February 3.
The t-shirts were presented by the President of MKM Haji Mohd Yusof bin Shaikh Abdul Halim to Medical Director of PJSC Dato Seri Laila Jasa Dr Babu Sukumaran who is also the Director of The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC).
The handover was witnessed by the Head of the Early Detection and Cancer Prevention Unit of PJSC Datin Dr Hajah Noraslinah binti Haji Ramlee and the MKM Vice President Hajah Juhana binti Haji Md Jaya.
The sponsored t-shirts will be distributed to cancer survivors participating in the charity event at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien from 6am.
The event is organised by MKM in cooperation with the PJSC through TBCC as a member of the Union of International Cancer Control (UICC), the Health Promotion Centre (HPC) at the Ministry of Health and MK Fashion.
“On behalf of the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, we thank Brunei Council on Social Welfare and their sponsors for the sponsorship of the charity run t-shirts for The Brunei Cancer Centre patients who will participate in the 1.5km walkathon on February 3,” said Dato Seri Laila Jasa Dr Babu Sukumaran.
