Option to work from home should remain amid easing of measures

With yesterday’s press conference highlighting that close contacts – red code on the BruHealth app – are now able to work in the office, I would like to know if the option still stands for those who are more comfortable working from home.

While it is good to see the country being in the Endemic Phase, we have been primed for two years to fear for the worst. We have seen three COVID-19 waves so far, and health experts around the world are already sounding the alarm that there may be more outbreaks on the horizon.

Now that there is more easing of pandemic measures amid the decreasing number of new daily cases, the public is divided on how much precaution to incorporate into their daily lives.

A great number of people are already treating it as though we are now completely out of the woods, ignoring the call to continue social and physical distancing in public.

Yet, a fair few of us would like to approach the situation more gingerly; and we ought to have the option to do so. While a collective sigh of relief may have been let out by the vast majority, some of us are left wondering if being in the minority means that we would have no choice but to risk infecting others, should we have received a false negative on the rapid test kit.
