The Open Day of Brunei-Muara District Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE BM) through Indung Ku Sayang programme (PInKS) kicked off with a ceremony at the PKWE in Kampong Lambak Kanan yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin officiated the ceremony.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the launch with a presentation of Corporate Video of PKWE BM. It continued with another video presentation on the objectives of PKWE BM as well as activities carried out by the centre such as religious, computer literacy, cooking and handicraft classes.
The event continued with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Mosque Affairs Officer of Kampong Lambak Kanan Mosque Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Jumat followed by a tour of the exhibition set up by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and volunteers.
Members of the Legislative Council, Acting Permanent Secretary (Strategy and Policy Management) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Saidah binti Haji Wahid @ Burut, members of the PKWE and Bestari Community Centre (PMB) across the country, Senior Citizens Association, NGOs and MCYS senior officials were also present.
