Only individuals who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination are permitted to leave the country for essential travel, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference yesterday.
The minister was responding to a question on whether those who only had one dose of the vaccination are allowed to travel.
He said those who are to travel must get the vaccination at least two months before their flight date. However, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham added that the Ministry of Health (MoH) may look into using their vaccine reserves for those needing to travel urgently.
He said, “We can look into it, but it depends on how urgent or important the business travel is as the vaccines are very limited at the moment and needs to be prioritised for those who really need them.” The reserve stocks are prioritised for the elderly, pregnant women and people with different abilities.
