Team Ong Sum Ping maintained their unbeaten record in the 5.11 National Basketball League with a third successive win after cruising to a 95-65 victory over Belait District Basketball Association (BDBA) at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last night.

Kevin Tay succession of three pointers played an instrumental role in giving Ong Sum Ping a strong start.

Belait District Basketball Association captain Heng Fook Yuan tried to reduce the gap with leading a scoring run but Tay converted another three-pointer shot to consolidate Ong Sum Ping’s lead early in the contest.

Ong Sum Ping further increased their lead with under-23 player Elvin Lim collecting the rebound off Gideon Fung after he tried to set up Tay with a chess pass.

Under-23 player Lim Jin Yuan added to the collection of three pointers for Ong Sum Ping to take a 45-22 lead, furthering their dominance of the game.

Ong Sum Ping’s Wun Ta Haw added to the team’s three-pointer tally with Tay also continuing his three-pointer run in the second half, never giving a chance for BDBA to catch up.

Earlier, Ong Sum Ping won their matches against Bandar Rocket and Tutong Basketball.

The competition continues tonight with Yi’s Nation V2 taking on Brunei Basketball Association while Bandar Rocket will play against Easyway Basketball.
