A new COVID-19 case was detected from a passanger arriving from Indonesia on March 7, bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 206.
Case 206 is a 46-year-old man on Royal Brunei flight BI736. The case is at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) for monitoring and treatment. Contact tracing had found two close contacts.
Swab test for both contacts tested negative. Fifteen active cases are receiving treatment at the NIC. There have not been any local transmissions of COVID-19 for consecutive 319 days.
A total of 586 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centres, while 15,237 individuals have completed mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centres.
In the past 24 hours, 320 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 112,060.
