One new COVID import case

Brunei Darussalam yesterday confirmed one new imported COVID-19 case bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 203.

Case 203 is a 43-year-old arriving in the country from the Philippines on March 3. Contact tracing has found no immediate contacts.

Meanwhile, the three imported cases reported on Tuesday have been quarantined upon arrival and were reported to have followed standard operating procedures for their travel and self-isolation.

There are now 14 active cases receiving treatment in the National Isolation Centre in Tutong District.

Meanwhile, Brunei Darussalam has recorded 315 days without COVID-19 local infection case.

A total of 804 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centres provided by the Government, after arriving from abroad.
