The iconic Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital marked its 66th anniversary on Sunday with recreational and religious programmes.
The mosque takmir committee and mosque youth held a walkathon, aimed at highlighting that mosques are not only places of worship but also as hub for Muslims for social, cultural and spiritual activities.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat was the guest of honour.
The mosque also hosted a religious talk after subuh prayers.
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Assistant Lecturer Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak spoke on ‘Glorifying Mosque during the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’. – Azlan Othman
