Noise complaint leads to arrest of local with drugs, contraband

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) detained a 20-year-old local man for possessing illegal drugs and contraband during its latest operation.

Following a public tip-off on a noise complaint in Kampong Sungai Besar, Brunei-Muara Police District headquarter personnel conducted an operation codenamed ‘Operasi Sahur’ at 2.30am yesterday.

Led by Acting Assistant Commanding Officer of Brunei-Muara Police District Deputy Superintendent of Police Pengiran Khairul Hakimin bin Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin with 30 police officers and personnel carried out a surprise check on a house in the area.

The man was detained with several contraband comprising small plastic bags containing chunks of crystal shards believed to be syabu and marijuana, drug paraphernalia as well as two packets of cigarettes and 22 bottles of alcohol.

The evidence was handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department while the discovery of the crystal packets believed to be drugs were handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau.
