I read with great interest on the letter ‘Service at RIPAS Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department needs to improve’ by Unhappy, published in the Opinion page of the Borneo Bulletin on September 4.
I agree with the writer that the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s services need improvement.
I had a similar encounter two years ago during the fasting month. I was a diabetes patient at the time and was referred for further treatment.
I had to pay the medical fees since I am a foreigner. I waited for a nurse to take care of my issue but no one attended me even after half an hour.
I decided to call out to one of the nurses but was only met with a bad tempered nurse who shouted at me.
As a patient, I felt uncomfortable at this treatment and I fully emphatise with Unhappy.
Patients should not be treated this way.
I hope the authorities can look into this.
