Minister of Home Affairs Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman in his response regarding claw machines raised during the Legislative Council meeting on Saturday explained that according to a fatwa issued by the State Mufti’s Office on December 18, 2023, the claw machine has been categorised as haram as it has gambling elements.
The minister said that under the Public Entertainment Act Chapter 181, the operation of claw machines is banned, and companies running these businesses are instructed to cease operations immediately.
