Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday highlighted global findings on multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) among young children and adolescents after being infected with COVID-19. He said there have been cases of MIS in children below the age of 12 in the Sultanate but no cases have thus far been found in those aged 12-17, a group that has “achieved the 100-per-cent target”. As of Wednesday, 31.5 per cent of children aged 5-11 have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the booster rate in the general population is 63.4 per cent.
