Participants of the 24th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) Brunei-Japan recently celebrated their 25th silver jubilee during a reunion at Mangrove Paradise Resort, Kota Batu.
Nineteen participants of the programme in 1997 to 2022 and one national leader attended the reunion.
The reunion aimed to maintain friendship and strengthen ties in addition to celebrating the 39th National Day.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a speech from former national leader Abang Zamhor bin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Diraja Abang Haji Abu Hanifah and former youth leader Fathan bin Haji Anuar.
The group also sang nostalgic Nippon Maru songs, exchanged gifts among themselves and joined a cake-cutting ceremony.
