The Brunei Darussalam Table Tennis Association (BDTTA) held a certificate presentation at the Menglait Sports Complex recently to award members who had attended a series of lectures and tests for qualification of being a national umpire and national coach.
BDTTA President Pengiran Haji Muhammad Noor bin Pengiran Haji Tajuddin said, “The association is proud with the encouraging participation response, especially from the youth community and table tennis players in Brunei Darussalam to join the course.”
He said the course aimed to increase the number of recognised coaches and umpires as part of early preparations for the upcoming national tournaments such as National Open 2021, President’s Cup 2021 and regional meets including the Southeast Asian Table Tennis Association (SEATTA) 2023.
“With the availability of the two courses, the certificate recipients can practice their newly acquired knowledge during training the squad as well as matches in the country and abroad.”
Assistant sport coach Kamarul Arifin Mohammad Harif and Brunei Table Tennis coordinator Madihah Raneya Haji Paun were also present.
