Boustead Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Suzuki automobile in the Sultanate, introduced the Suzuki Ignis with a new facelift at The Mall in Gadong yesterday.
During the launch, Suzuki Brunei took another step into the future by utilising digital platforms through social media live features.
“It was one of the steps we took and a good way to limit the number of attendees to ensure that we’re meeting the proper guidelines set by the Ministry of Health. It is also our mission in utilising digital platforms as our tools to reach the public and deliver our message creatively and safely,” said Suzuki Brunei Head of Marketing Adehelmie Jaafar.
Prior to the launch, the new Suzuki Ignis captured the public’s attention through Boustead’s weekly online teasers on their social media platforms with the concept of ‘Musical Broadway’.
The new Ignis has fresh new features from the sleek looking front grille and upgraded front and rear bumpers. The Ignis, well known for its compact yet spacious size, is now fitted with 505-litre total luggage space when rear seats are folded and styled with more ‘Distinctive Accent Colours’.
Opeating on a 1.2-litre petrol engine with four cylinders and 16 valves, its gear transmission utilises a continuously variable transmission (CVT), ensuring drivers a smoother ride, with fuel efficiency.
The new Ignis targets young drivers with its sleek look, colourful interiors and exteriors, as well as spacious luggage space to fit in daily personal and working necessities.
In the appeal towards the younger market, Suzuki has launched a variety of new exterior colours including yellow rush metallic, caravan ivory pearl metallic and tough khaki pearl metallic, adding into the existing line of colours from the previous Ignis.
With driving a “higher-looking” car now becoming a trend, the new Ignis offers a ground clearance of 180mm with excellent approaching and departure angle, which would enable drivers and passengers the advantage of having a comfortable high seating position with a safer and bigger view of the surroundings.
Suzuki Ignis made its debut in the early 2000s and now is in its second generation line up. ‘Ignis’ refers to ‘fire’ in Latin, and its intended shape and image shows it is capable car for its targetted market.
Boustead Sdn Bhd (Suzuki) Assistant Sales Manager Kai Choon Wang was present at the launch.
