New platform to improve collection, analysis of agricultural data

The Department of Agriculture and Agrifood (DAA) signed an agreement for implementing a web-based data entry platform and a data analytics visualisation system with Signature Trend Sdn Bhd yesterday.

The project aims to improve the efficiency of updating and analysing data on agriculture, agrifood and imports, while also ensuring the efficient management, collection and storing of the information.

The department hopes that with the system in place, vital information can be obtained quickly and accurately, including expected yields for crops and livestock.

The project also hopes to increase the quality of data and provide transparency between relevant parties.

Director of Agriculture and Agrifood Hajah Masliana Yuliah binti Abdullah signed for the DAA while Director of Signature Trend Dharmik Sheth signed for the company.

The contract included the design, development, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the ‘Web-Based Data Entry Platform And Data Analytics Visualisation System’

Acting Deputy Director of Agriculture and Agrifood Abuzar bin Haji Mohd Tahir and the company’s Senior Data Analyst Wafi bin Talipudin were witnesses.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab was the guest of honour.

Also present was Deputy Permanent Secretary II at the MPRT Hajah Dahliana binti Haji Aliakbar.
